Aarresaaren breeder

Greetings! My name is Mari Rajaniemi. I'm an entrepreneur and the breeder of Aarresaaren dogs.

Aarresaaren is a small home kennel in Southern Finland, Lahti. I found the Eurasier breed in 1995 when we adopted our first Eurasier, a female called Alziina, "Alzu". My first Eurasier litter I raised in 1998. I kept one female puppy Aarresaaren Anastasia, "Tara", who is living with my parents.

My breeding is in a small scale, only few litters now and then. All my dogs that I use for breeding have been health checked (hips, elbows, knees and eyes). I will also take them to a breeding evaluation, shows and other activities. I raise my puppies with love and I aim at giving them a good start to their new lives. The kennel name Aarresaaren, I got in 1999.

My own pack consists of my husband Jani and our Eurasier females Blue Creek's Jetset Joliette, "Mette" and Harahill's Kamomilla, "Cami". Mette is a calm, self-assured and stubborn madam. Cami is almost totally the opposite: very social, lively and kind young Eurasier lady.

Mette was co-owned with her breeder (kennel Blue Creek's). She had seven lovely puppies on June 18, 2004 for her breeder, four girls and three boys. These puppies were the Blue Creek's N-litter. In the summer 2006 Mette gave birth to the Aarresaaren M-litter, six lovely puppies, two boys and four girls.

With our dogs we walk and do other activities everyday. We go to dog shows quite regularly with Mette and Cami. We have tried agility with all our dogs. We practise in P-HAU. I have competed in the agility Max 1 -class with Mette.

I have completed the breeder's basic and extension courses and also the breeding advisor's course. I'm also a member of the Finnish Kennel Club and the Finnish Eurasier Club. In the Finnish Eurasier Club I'm a member of the breeding committee. I also maintain the breeding database and the web pages. I was a member of the board in 2003-2008 and the chief editor of the paper Eurasier-Uutiset in 2003-2009. I also belong to the association Salpausselän Koirankasvattajat.
